What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a gentle approach to daily life that honours each individual’s unique journey and authentic nature. Ayurveda is a holistic form of healthcare dating back thousands of years, originating in India and is a sister science of Yoga!

Ayurveda can be translated to “Knowledge of Life” or the “Science of Life.” It is an approach to life that focuses on balancing the body, mind, and soul to live the healthiest life possible. Ayurveda emphasizes healthy living and the prevention of disease rather than fighting disease and medicating symptoms. If disease has already set in, Ayurveda can help minimize symptoms and possibly reverse the disease process.

What can I expect from Ayurveda Health Counselling Sessions?

This is a great option if you are currently experiencing health concerns and are ready for change. No previous Ayurveda knowledge is required!

Please note: Because all individuals are unique beings, an Ayurveda Health Assessment must be completed prior to individual health counselling sessions to ensure we both understand your unique Ayurveda constitution.

Virtual sessions are tailored to your unique concerns, goals, and interests and are aimed at understanding your health and lifestyle patterns to create more balance in your mental and physical health. Sessions can include Ayurveda theory and connections to any current health concerns, breath work practices, herbal supplementation options, yoga and movement ideas, meditation, sound therapy, reiki, and self-journalling exercises. The beauty of Ayurveda Health Counselling is that sessions are completely tailored to your specific needs and interests; there is no one-size-fits-all approach in Ayurveda! The goal of these sessions is to educate and empower, not to keep you stuck in a cycle of disease and symptom management.

How many Ayurveda Health Counselling Sessions are recommended?

I recommend a minimum of 3 Ayurveda Health Counselling Sessions after the Ayurveda Health Assessment is completed to fully understand your Dosha, the foundations of Ayurveda, and how to implement changes to improve your life and health. Once you know the basics of Ayurveda you can continue your learning and embodiment practices with further sessions, a virtual Ayurveda course, or continue solo! Single sessions are also available!

Bundle prices are available and can be found on my website here.

What are Check-In Sessions?

These are ongoing sessions aimed at supporting any ongoing health conditions or new concerns that might arise.

These check-in sessions are only available to people who have completed the Ayurveda Health Assessment and a minimum of 3 Ayurveda Health Counselling sessions. Once we are both clear on your unique constitution, health goals, and lifestyle patterns, you can book a 30-minute (or longer!) session that focuses on any health concern you may be having. For example, seasonal allergies, cold and flu symptoms, menstrual concerns, pregnancy planning, post-pregnancy support, pre or post-surgery support, managing stress after a life transition, career changes/stress, relationship changes, skin concerns from seasonal changes etc.…

How often should I book my Sessions?

Session frequency depends on what your goals are, and what your personal schedule is like. Ayurveda stresses that time and space are needed for the embodiment of the teachings and for true change to happen. However, forward momentum is also required for lasting change to occur! We can discuss this further during our meetings and adjust as we go! Know that you have a support person with dusty rose lifestyle; the goal is to create harmony in our lives - not more stress! We can flow and evolve together.

A general suggestion would be to complete the Ayurveda Health Assessment Sessions within 7-10 days, then the 3 Ayurveda Health Counselling Sessions 2-4 weeks apart.

Check-in Sessions are great to add in 3-4 times a year as the seasons change to maintain optimal health.

What is the cost involved?

I firmly believe that healthcare and health education should be available to all people equally. Unfortunately, in my personal history and my experiences in the western medical world, I know this is not always the case. Health and illness can be expensive! Travelling for specialist appointments, parking, hotels, prescriptions, and time off work all add up in a big way. For these reasons, dusty rose lifestyle offers a sliding scale payment plan to ensure equal access to all people regardless of income levels.

Sessions and courses can start at $0 dollars; yes, you read that right! Please email me here to request this option, or to discuss options.

**When using the sliding scale option, respect and honesty with your financial situation are vital to ensure that dusty rose lifestyle can provide services to those who need it most. Let’s build strong and healthy communities together!**

I believe in transparency, so all current pricing is listed on my website here.

I have a busy schedule, how will I find time for more commitments?

We can work together to plan sessions around any commitments in your life. Session length and session delivery can adapt to your lifestyle. Zoom, FaceTime, phone calls, or text messages in certain situations are all available options.

Ayurveda stresses slowing down, being intentional, and living mindfully. You may find you have more time than you think once you start to eliminate things that cause undue stress. What could be more important than your health and wellness?

If you are looking for the most flexible option, I would suggest a virtual course like “The Journey to Self” to start. These are pre-recorded videos that can be accessed anytime. If you love what you are learning, book an Ayurveda Health Assessment or 1:1 sessions to deepen your knowledge.

Is Ayurveda right for me?

I believe everyone can benefit from Ayurveda knowledge; however, a readiness for change is needed for lasting impacts. We can take the materials and sessions as fast or as slow as you want, and all sessions are tailored to your unique needs, goals, and schedule.

The first step is generally the hardest! Let’s create momentum together and get you living your dusty rose lifestyle! After all, health and happiness is our birthright. Please contact me here with any questions or concerns you may have.

My friend or spouse wants to learn about Ayurveda, are group sessions available?

Yes and no. Some of the information we discuss is quite personal so it might be difficult to fully open up with a friend or loved one present. However, doing this work with another person can be an amazing way to have accountability and embrace the teachings of Ayurveda! If this is something that interests you, I would recommend separate sessions to maintain confidentiality, but plan your sessions close together so you can share and discuss the topics we cover.

Another great option is to enrol in “The Journey to Self” at the same time. It’s a great way to have a girl’s night or a date night with your special someone! Group pricing is offered, email me here if this interests you.

**Please respect my teaching materials and do not distribute or share them with friends/family without my permission. Thank you for your honesty.**
